This UK based company approached our colleagues at Design Edge to design a large complex piece of medical equipment that in addition to being ergonomically sound also needed to be ethically pleasing.
The whole of the control panel was constructed of silicone elastomer in the form of a very large KeyFlex keypad ( 1kg in weight) The membrane substrate PCB has five SM LED’s and metal click dome switches, ribbon cable lead out complete with connector.To allow the end product to be retailed with a different logos a recess is placed a either end of the keypad into which a pre moulded / printed silicone elastomer logo can be fitted.
The whole top surface area is coated (KeyCoat) and KeyStick / 3M468 adhesive film fitted to the underside for fixing to the plastic case moulding
